A good friend of mine found this video about the Mayan calendar and 2012. This is yet another look at what’s possibly to come, based upon the opinion of someone who has studied the appropriate materials, rather than someone who is relying on Hollywood and the news to instill a belief system. I share this video to demonstrate that there are people who have been reading, studying and attempting to understand things which do not appear on our nightly news. What is Astral Projection?
Any interpretation of an out of body experience, where the mind or ‘astral body’ seems to leave the physical body to travel about inside of the astral plane or field of consciousness, is defined as astral projection. For beginners, this may either seem like an unfamiliar or frightening scenario, or may be something that is happening to you regularly, without conscious effort. Astral projection is often associated with near death experiences, and has been reported to occur during dreams, surgery, meditation or while under the influence of certain types of drugs. Any time your senses seem to separate from your body and travel through time and space to other places, dimensions or fields of thought, this can be considered astral projection.
Astral Projection Techniques
There are many techniques available for astral projection for beginners. You can read about these and try them for yourself, or you may wish to research further by comparing successful techniques or engaging in forums especially designed for beginners to astral projection and out of body experiences. Depending upon how you learn, you may also be interested in an audio course that provides information regarding all aspects of astral projection, both for beginners and those who are more advanced. You may discover that you can achieve certain types of physical or mental healing, meet with loved ones who have passed, or access the Akashic Records by becoming familiar with astral projection and how it can benefit you. No matter what technique you use to achieve astral projection, keep the following pointers in mind:
Relax – you must reach a complete state of relaxation and meditation for astral projection to occur. Any fears, thoughts or questions could interfere with the process.
Avoid astral travel at night – for beginners, attempting astral projection at bedtime will likely result in your falling asleep, but you may achieve lucid dreaming…which can be another fun experience!
Be patient – learning the art of astral projection is a commitment that may take some time. You must be patient and continue using your favorite techniques with consistency.

Dangers of Astral Projection
If you’re a beginner to astral projection, your first question probably centers around the potential dangers of astral travel and if there is a possibility for harm. The answer to this question seems to be based mostly on your level of fear. Must like walking through a dark alley at night, if you give off the impression that you are afraid, you are more likely to be bitten by a dog or attacked by a criminal. Same goes for the law of attraction; what you present to the universe comes back to you in experience. There are dangers to astral projection, but they are apparently rare, occur on the lower levels of consciousness and involve fear. If you are informed of the possibilities and are educated on the easy techniques to prevent harm from coming to your body, your being and your soul, higher consciousness wins every time. Astral projection is about confidence and protection, and that’s all there is to it.

Half empty, or half full? What's your perspective?
Is the glass half empty or half full?
That’s one of those questions we’ve all heard. Maybe we laugh as we discuss the answer amongst friends. But once the comedy ends, we drink whatever half is left in the glass and we move on, without another thought about the underlying depth of this contemplation.
The paradox is that the glass is both half full and half empty, simultaneously. Depending upon the day, your mood or your life experiences, you’ll have a tendency to answer accordingly. It will be what it is for you, and you’ll likely stick to it. This is where perspective comes into play. Perspective is one of the single most important determinants of how our lives will unfold, and the kicker is that we, alone are in 100% control of how the entire thing turns out.
There are two sides to every story. Really, there are a million. There are so many different ways to look at and feel about everything that is. No matter how we think, react, are… we are never wrong, and we are never right. We are simply carrying about, in control or out of it, unfolding our lives as the events surface. How many of us are aware that we have any control in our lives? How many of us feel confident enough to take advantage of this power? How many of us are free enough from fear, guilt and confusion to believe that we can turn any unfortunate event into something splended, fulfilling and joyful? How many of us believe we deserve such a beautiful gift?
Changing your overall perspective of life is not only fulfilling and attractive to the Universe and it’s gifts, but it is also a process. It doesn’t take hard work, but it does require diligence. The first step is to become aware, and if you have read thus far, you can check that off the list. Awareness never goes away once it’s received. You cannot ‘backslide’ from awareness. You can temporarily misplace the information somewhere in a boggled mind, but you can never unlearn a gem of wisdom that has been placed before you.
The next step is to pay attention to your habitual thinking. This is tricky since it’s almost as if we have to catch ourselves being ourselves. You must literally see yourself in the third person and objectively assess each of your thoughts. The best way to go about this is to become aware of your feelings. If something doesn’t feel good, find out why. Nothing is external. There are ways to view circumstances that seem terrible with a light heart and a keen eye for knowledge. Dissect all bad feelings to get to the root of why something is bothering you, and then figure out how to change your perspective.
Let’s use traffic as an example. Most of us hate sitting in traffic. Why? It may be hot outside, it may be cold. We may be late for an appointment. We may have a long list of things to do and we’re impatient with all those cars in front of us. Sitting in traffic is actually a wonderful opportunity to have some ‘us’ time. If there are a million cars in front of you, there’s not a darn thing you can do about it. Turn on the radio and sing. Turn off the radio and enjoy the sunshine. Look around you and notice the beautiful birds, architecture, clouds and scenery that you usually miss as you speed by. Admire that 1968 Mustang next to you on the road.
Get to know yourself.
Figure out why you’re huffing and puffing over something that you can’t change. Are you feeling guilt for being late? Are you tense because you’ve got too many things to do? Notice those feelings, breathe and then relax. Find a new focal point. Focus on something that feels good.
This example, in a nutshell, is how you may always go about ridding yourself of all feelings that aren’t nice. You always have a choice to feel good or feel bad. No one can change these feelings for you. No matter how your kids act, what the weather report says or how little money you’re bringing into your life, you can always decide to focus on that which is good and plentiful.
Make this a new habit. Once this process becomes second nature, you’ll notice all the good things that follow. Magic will begin to happen in your life and you’ll wonder how you missed something so simple for all these years. It’s a journey. It’s your movie. It’s your life. Be the shining star and pass on the goodness.
Farmville is fun. If you hate it, are you doing something else that is fun?
At first glance, you might be thinking ‘what the heck does Farmville have to do with holistic healing.’
Well. The answer is nothing… and everything!
I play Farmville on Facebook. I like it. I think it’s fun. It provides me with a break in between writing articles or the other 900 jobs that I’ve created for my to-do list. And I’m not alone. 76 million people actively play Farmville every month. It’s a phenomenon.
Frequently, I see group and page invites flash across my Facebook news feed that say things like ‘Farmville Haters,’ ‘I don’t care about your farm or your park or your mafia’ or ‘Oh, you’re a fan of Farmville, I’m a fan of having a life.’ Wow.
So, it gets better. If one clicks the link and proceeds to read what some of these people write on the walls, one will find such comments as ‘I hope all their crops die,’ ‘They should just get a life and a real farm’ or ‘I wish we could send Farmville farmers swine flu or bomb their farms.’
Frequently you’ll find overuse of cuss words and insults.
What’s the deal with this? I was truly astonished at the level of anger and disgruntled-ness that I found from Farmville haters. And it led me to wonder what’s really going on.
So, I created my own group on Facebook. It’s called Mind Your Business and Stop Hating on My Farm. This is a place of peace. At least that was my intention. I really have no idea why some people would get so upset about something someone else is enjoying. It’s completely beyond me. It’s a free world and no one is twisting anyone’s arm to join Farmville. You might get an occasional invitation from a friend, who thinks you might need a BREAK from all that bitching…but that’s an easy thing to ignore or block if you really don’t want to play.
Which leads me to my next point. The ONLY way I can understand being this upset over other people playing an online game is if you are completely sick of seeing the updates on your news feed. But here’s the thing. Instead of taking the time to join 100 Farmville hater groups and think up clever insults for those of us who play, perhaps you could Google a term like ‘how to stop application and game updates from showing on my Facebook news feed.’ The information is there. And for your convenience, it’s here as well. Just scroll to the bottom of this post.
Now to my real point on how this ties in with holistic healing and this blog. If you’re a Farmville hater and vehemently expose your hatred via these Facebook groups and your news feed, do you have any idea what you’re doing to yourself? It’s not likely that you’re upsetting any Farmville farmers because they are having a good time playing their little game, harvesting their little crops and feeding their little animals. You’re creating a huge ball of rage over literally nothing.
Are you aware that rage and anger creates sickness and disease????
While I am detached from this emotion since I’m not interested in creating sickness and disease for myself, I did want to tell the world that expending energy on hatred is really not good for the body, mind or soul. This is true of hatred for anyone or anything, but especially something that is either A) not affecting your life one bit, or B) very easy to ignore and block.
I mean c’mon. If you can’t let THIS go, I can imagine the size of the tumor that may be growing in your body because you can’t drive calmly in traffic or deal with your in-laws. Wow. The term ‘take a chill pill’ comes to mind, but this is a holistic blog so I don’t believe in pills either.
Alternatively, perhaps you should just breathe deeply and realize that you are making your own choices and your feelings are being created by you. Please wake up and join the team for peace so that we may evolve into a more peaceful society. You do understand that peace must start with YOU, right?
Wow. Ok so the following video is really quite funny. I’ll admit it. It does prove some points that Farmville addicts might be experiencing. However, there’s no hate! No energy has been expended on hatred. This guy is having FUN hating Farmville, which is the whole point of this post to start with.
How to Block Game and Application Updates, Life Farmville, From Your Facebook News Feed
Ok, so here are the instructions for blocking game and application feeds, or even certain people from showing up on your Facebook news feed. These instructions are copied directly from my Facebook fan page that I mentioned earlier.
If you happened upon this group…even if you’re a hater…there’s a really simple way to HIDE all application updates from your news feed that you don’t want to see.
Instead of hating on Farmville…here’s what you do.
1) The next time you see an update from an application or a person that you don’t want to see again, run your mouse over to the right side of the post.
2) A little box pops up that says HIDE.
3) Click it and the post will go away. You’ll also be given an option to hide all posts from that PERSON, or all posts from that APPLICATION.
4) Click your choice and then, my friend, you’ll never have to be bothered by our silly little farming updates again.
5) Now you can feel better and go on about your happy Facebook posting without getting so wound up.
So now you know how to block certain updates from your Facebook news feed. Wasn’t that easy? Think of all the energy you expended being upset over it. Self-realization is imminent, my friend. It’s going to happen sooner or later. The lightbulb WILL come on. Why not take steps to make that happen more quickly. Stop HATING! It’s really bad for you.
A fever is the body’s natural way of eliminating bacteria and infections. An elevated temperature is created because the body knows that these types of organisms cannot ‘take the heat’, so to speak. People generally become alarmed, especially when children have a fever. If we examine the idea that the immune system is the body’s natural defense against infection, and if it hasn’t been hindered by overuse of antibiotics in the past, it will do the best job possible at fighting off sickness and disease.
Despite the fact that a fever has a specific purpose and place in healing of the body, sometimes we may wish to bring down a fever, even if only slightly. When a fever gets too high, there are several consequences that may result. If you or your child are experiencing hallucinations or dehydration as a result of high fever, you may want to consult a physician. If you’re more interested in calming the patient and getting to the root of the issues, there are several natural remedies for bringing down a fever and leading to a better chance for rapid healing.
Touch is one of the most important things to include in your natural healing remedies for fever. The body is made up of energy which has a particular and constant flow. When this flow is interrupted by sickness, it’s important to try and get things back in order. Especially for a child, touch will not only help to get energy properly flowing again, but it will also calm and soothe the sick patient. This will permit him or her to feel more comfortable and safe, thus allowing the immune system and other functions of the body to focus on healing, rather than stress and frenzy.
There are many herbs and natural plants or seeds that can help reduce high fever. Drinking herbal teas with thyme, linden flowers and chamomile may be especially helpful natural remedies. You’ll also want to make sure to drink plenty of water and fruit juice. Remember, most of the fruit juice on the shelves at the grocery store is not really juice. When sick with a high fever, you’re looking for 100% natural with no sugars, sodium or high fructose corn syrup. The vitamins and minerals that can be obtained by drinking beet or carrot juice will help significantly. For children who may not agree to tea or beet juice, a tepid bath with added herbs or a cool compress will help soothe and bring down the fever. Many people report that placing an onion or potato around the wrist or the heel helps lower body temperature as well, and engaging in such behavior will likely create some humor that may lighten the mood!
Remember to always keep on loose clothing so that the fever can breathe. Try to avoid solid foods and don’t use alcohol as a rub down or addition to the bathtub, as it can actually do more harm than good, especially for kids. Try not to become frantic over a high fever as that type of energy can lead yourself or your patient to an even more restless state. Remain calm, give a fever a couple days and let it run its course. If fever is associated with a stiff neck, severe hallucinations or rises about 105 degrees for adults, and high fever natural remedies don’t seem to be working, a doctor’s appointment may become necessary.
Use nature or visualizations to help balance the mind, body and spirit
Balancing of mind, body and spirit has significant benefits in everyday life. This balance can be achieved in a number of ways, and there are several simple changes that can be made immediately to begin feeling the positive impact. Awareness of your current standpoint is vital to the experience and can help give you some idea of how you operate and where to begin to achieve the necessary balance.
What Feelings Are You Choosing?
Our feelings are a choice. It may not feel that way when we are experiencing unfortunate circumstances, but the simple fact is that there are many ways to feel about a given situation. Blessings in disguise, for example, occur everyday in our lives. It seems simpler to blame exterior circumstances for what is happening to us, but when we choose to release negative feelings or find a more positive way to view any experience, it helps to create this balance of mind, body and spirit. Positive feelings weigh less, giving us more energy, vibrance and focus. When these are in place, nice and happy experiences seem to become more frequent.
Who is Making Contributions to Your Life?
What kinds of people are contributing to your current conditions. While it is fully your responsibility to choose appropriate feelings, this is much easier to do when you are surrounded by supportive and uplifting people. Balance of mind, body and spirit can be much more easily achieved when you can laugh and love more easily and without effort. If you are surrounded by people who complain, or if you complain yourself, check this behavior and begin to network with people who make it a habit to be positive. These people may seem annoying to someone who’s used to living a reality of unfortunate circumstances, but the more you realize how much easier this way of life is, the more attractive this lifestyle will become.
Where’s All the Fun?
Do you have any fun? It is vital and essential and mandatory that you find a way to incorporate some fun into your life; on a daily basis! The excuse that there isn’t enough time to do the things you want to do is simply not true. In fact, having fun and releasing stress will give you the benefit of more time in a day. Time is relative anyway, and the addition of events which make you feel joy, laughter, peace, love or freedom will enhance the balance of body, mind and spirit and keep you more focused and efficient for the tasks that you are less emotionally connected to.
Release Stress
Meditation is one of the most effective ways to release stress and find that balance for your entire being. Your physical well-being, emotional sanity and spiritual gwell-being all depend upon a balance. Meditation can be achieved almost anywhere at almost anytime. A ritualistic perspective is not necessary. Whenever you have a few moments, like sitting in traffic, washing dishes or waiting for someone, you can engage in a few moments of meditation. Become acutely aware of each thought as it enters your mind, and then practice ways to let it go, let it pass and let it fly. This practice takes some getting used to, and will become an extremely important and effective tool for releasing stress, remaining calm, feeling joy and recognizing the harmony in all people, circumstances and events around you, whether seemingly good or bad.

High fructose corn syrup is contained in just about every food in the grocery store.
There is an ongoing debate over the dangers of high fructose corn syrup, and whether or not it’s contributing to the decline of health, and the obesity of consumers. Research reveals facts that keep up with both sides. Mercury, a toxic chemical in all its forms, has been found in many samples of commercially sold HFCS. Studies have also shown that the consumption of high fructose corn syrup has no significant difference in effect on the body than the use of regular table sugar. HFCS is derived from corn by a process that is far from natural, and it’s the main ingredient in many popular foods found at the grocery store, including bread, soda, ice cream, juice and even many natural and health foods.
The Appearance of High Fructose Corn Syrup
The sugar contained in many popular food and drink products used to be derived from a sucrose that came from sugar beets or sugar cane. In the 70s, prices rose and a cheaper source to sweeten food was created. A process that modifies starch molecules from cornstarch produces glucose and fructose that becomes HFCS. High fructose corn syrup is a highly processed form of sugar that may contain mercury. Recent tests reveal that a large portion of commercially sold high fructose corn syrup servings may contain this toxic substance due to a process used to create it. Manufacturers of this sugar substitute claim that they use reagents that are mercury-free, however it’s the creation of these reagents that may be causing contamination. Who’s telling the truth, and how much of the story are companies legally required to reveal?
Here’s a very interesting, (and kind of long-winded) video on how and why High Fructose Corn Syrup is so popular. I suggest you watch it. It may open your eyes in more ways than one.
High Fructose Corn Syrup and Sucrose
HFCS and sucrose, or normal table sugar, have equal amounts of calories. Glucose and fructose are present in both, however, they are chemically bonded in sucrose, whereas high fructose corn syrup blends the two. This creates a difference in the way each is absorbed by the body. Research insists that the absorption is the same, but high fructose corn syrup bypasses the digestion process altogether and is metabolized directly into the bloodstream. Some research shows that free or unbound fructose may cause problems with the body’s use of important nutrients like copper, chromium and magnesium. Fructose also contains no healthy substances, and steals nutrients from the body for its own sustenance. Cirrhosis of the liver may result from too much consumption of this sugar, and other problems may creep up as well. Table sugar isn’t healthy either, despite it’s claim to be natural. A little study of how the body digests and uses these chemicals may bring some light to the subject.
Natural and Organic Foods
High fructose corn syrup falls under the category of ‘natural’ as approved by the FDA. The FDA approves a food label’s use of the word natural, as long as that food contains a small percentage of natural ingredients. This means that 100% fruit juice containing high fructose corn syrup and other unnatural chemicals may be legally marketed at a natural and healthy product. It’s up to you to decide. I still like to go by pronunciation of the ingredients. If I can’t say them out loud, they probably include chemicals or processing that I don’t want in my body.

Foot odor can be embarrassing and difficult to cure. With the expansion of awareness of the potential toxicity and long-term side effects of traditional medications for any disease or infection, including foot odor, natural remedies are becoming popular and mainstream. Foot odor natural remedies are easy and inexpensive to make right at home, or they can be purchased at local health food stores and vitamin shops.
Get Rid of That Smell, the Natural Way!
Long-term use of harsh chemicals can lead to all sorts of toxic situations for the body. The feet are no exception to this rule. This can be avoided by purchasing foot odor natural remedies, or using ingredients found in your cupboards, for mixing one yourself. Natural Recipe Using Essential Oils
A great natural recipe for eliminating foot odor is the mixture of certain essential oils with distilled water and other non-toxic substances. Mix 1 cup of distilled water with ¼ of witch hazel. Add about 7 drops of tea tree oil, which contains anti-fungal properties, and an additional 3 to 4 drops of an additional essential oil of your choice. Sage and geranium oil also have anti-fungal properties, while oils like lavender and rose have a wonderful scent. This solution can be sprayed directly on your feet, and inside your shoes as often as you like.
Natural Deodorizers for the Feet
There are many ingredients that can probably be found in your kitchen cabinets which are great at eliminating foot odors. Baking soda not only rids the awful smell, but also helps to cut down on bacteria. Sprinkle some baking soda in your shoes at night, and add a crumpled ball of newspaper to collect moisture. Tea and vinegar washes can also be made into a foot soak for a great and natural acidic foot bath. Bring tea to a boil, or heat vinegar as an alternative, and once it’s cooled, pour it into a deep dish and soak your feet for at least 20 minutes.
