Free Hugs? It’s a Movement!

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

So if you’ve been following, you’ll already know that I just released the free ebook download version of Hugs and Popsicles a couple days ago. This is a book of children’s poems with full-color illustrations, and the title poem is about how hugs and popsicles can cure just about any ailments you may have. Just today I’ve been further enlightened by a free hugs movement that’s being spread all over the world!

Not only did I hear about this campaign, but someone I know actually got to experience some free love today while he was driving his cab. He was circling the downtown square in Springfield, Missouri, while waiting for his next Taxi call, and he spotted a large group of people with Free Hugs signs! He said he pulled over, jumped out and was swarmed by people wanting to give out free hugs. What an emotional experience, both for him and for me as he recounted the story.

I am simply thrilled to know that people are banding together to change the world with love. What an amazing concept! These are people who truly understand that giving away love doesn’t take anything from a person’s soul. In fact, quite the opposite. Giving love creates more love, which fills the world with warmth and happiness. THIS is where we’re headed.

So drop all your stress, all your woes and get real for a second. Watch this video clip and if it pulls a string in your heart, watch it again. Decide today that you’re going to do your part to spread the love, even if it’s just a simple smile at a passing stranger.

You can also see more about the Free Hugs movement by checking The Official Home of the Free Hugs Campaign website.

Making Connections

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

One of my favorite parts of being online is making connections. If you’re in the business of changing the world (like I am) then making connections is a crucial part of getting to know your audience, finding out what they want, and then providing it for them. When you’re on purpose, these connections can be more fulfilling than any material gains would ever be. As I was writing my kids poetry book, Hugs and Popsicles, I had no idea what would happen when I offered it to the world. Within 24 hours I’ve made some amazing connections as people pop out of the ether to thank me for sharing these poems. And many of them see the world much in the same way that I do.

A lovely connection was created when a man named Tony read my book and sent me a message telling me how much he enjoyed it. He sent me his link, expecting that I might enjoy it as well. In fact, his views are much the same as mine, so I wanted to make a post, not only to thank him, but to share with you what he has to offer. His site begins with an adorable anecdote about ‘Why God Created Children‘. This will make you lol…I know I did!

As I began to look around his website, he’s got hundreds of articles offering natural ways to help many health problems and ailments; cancer, acne, everything from A to Z. I encourage you to browse through his database of articles, as you may very well learn about an herbal, natural or homemade remedy that could help you in your daily life.

You can find the article directory here, and I encourage you to browse the left side for links to inspirational, humorous and health topics. When you open yourself up to making connections, you’ll be amazed at what you can learn, how you can grow and what kind of abundance can begin pouring into your life.

Please retweet, FB share and press the ‘like’ button for this article. Let’s help Tony’s website get the traffic it deserves by sharing his wonderful collection of resources.

I also encourage you to enter your email address to the right of this page. By doing this you will receive a free ebook download, access to my own free products as they become available and updates on awesome resources that I find while I’m out on the internet making connections!

Here’s to your success making connections. You can start right here by posting your comments and sharing your own stories with me.

Everyone is on a Personal Journey

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

One of the hardest things to do is allow other people to be exactly who they are. We are all on a journey. Some of us choose to look for ways to grow as people, and others seem to just flounder through life not really accomplishing a thing.

We must realize that despite our opinions of others, each one of us has a personal journey to accomplish. Whether you believe we each chose our paths before birth or you believe this is the one and only lifetime, either way, we are all figuring out something, each and every day. Your path may seem more complicated than someone else’s. Rejoice at this. Do not be envious when another’s life seems easier or less stressful. Look at the big picture. Become excited that your challenges are monumental, for when you overcome them, imagine the sense of success and accomplishment you will feel. Imagine what you will have learned and how far you will have come on your own personal journey.

If you have become aware enough to realize that you are growing, evolving and maturing along your own journey, the next step is to understand that others are doing the same. Many times we forget that people are on different paths, are experiencing different life events and may be handling them in a very different way from ‘our way’.

No matter who you interact with today, try to find the peace within yourself. If you run into people who seem angry or bitter, radiate your own peace and you will see faces soften, attitudes shift and people become a little less hostile. Have compassion, and always remember that this person who may be disagreeable has his or her own path. Other people’s actions do not need to affect who you are, how you feel or how you behave. Stay with your own joy.

If you’re feeling less than joyful, please sign up for immediate accessto updates. You’ll not only receive a free ebook explaining how to use the law of attraction to work positive magic in your life, but you’ll also be notified of the coming release date of my 8-week free course on learning the art of happiness.

I Bet I Can Find 1,000,000 People Who Seek Abundance

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Oh the joys of Facebook fan pages! There are so many ‘I Bet I Can Find 1,000,000 People Who’ facebook pages out there that I decided to create one, too!

I’m looking for 1,000,000 people who seek abundance, and here are the reasons why…

1. I, too, am seeking abundance, fulfillment, prosperity and joy – consistently and infinitely. Surrounding myself with like-minded people has been a blessing, and has proven to be an effective tool for my success. Join and see!

2. I have been studying voraciously since I first saw The Secret about 3 years ago. I have read books, watched videos and practice, practice, practiced! I have seen some miraculous and amazing results in my life and I want to share some of what I have learned with all of you.

3. I have made use of some of the many tools and tricks that successful people are using to achieve their goals. So far, so good! I am living proof that these tools and resources, like vision boards, visualizations, positive affirmations and thinking like a millionaire actually do work!

4. I have been making money online for about 10 years and my income is increasing every month. I have knowledge of many business opportunities, online freelance websites and online marketplaces. My knowledge of such opportunities includes, but is not limited to:

  • writing for pay
  • network marketing
  • ebay
  • Zazzle
  • VISS (teaching others about how to realize their own dreams and goals)

I earn monthly residual income from each of these opportunities and information about any one (or all) of these may interest you and help you to begin realizing your dreams.

So, these items and more prompted me to create the Facebook fan page called I Bet I Can Find 1,000,000 People Who Seek Abundance. I’d be thrilled if you’d come and join our community and experience the difference that positive influence can make. Please share and invite your friends so we can hit our 1,000,000 mark and beyond!

Wishing you peace and joy, always.

Making Room for Abundance

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Today I am making room for abundance.

The idea was spawned from my latest read, The Success Principles(TM): How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be. It’s by Jack Canfield, who some of you may know from the movie, The Secret, and others may recognize from the popular Chicken Soup For the Soul series. There are so many amazing topics in this book, and they are all short, sweet and to the point. For the first time I feel compelled to highlight important points in a book because so much of what he says is coming at the right time for me.

Some of you may know that I’ve won the vision board contest with VISS International. The support I received on my video was awesome and I’ll be embarking on my new career shortly. It’s funny, the same principles that I’ll be teaching and that can be learned from associating with VISS, John Assaraf and Bonnie Bruderer are the exact principles that helped me to win this contest. It’s about asking, visualizing and knowing for certain that you’ll get what you want, or something better! I’m so passionate about this because I’ve seen it work miracles in my life. My wish is for everyone who wants a better life, no matter in what way, to learn these techniques and apply them.

So in order to make way for the prosperity and abundance that I’m visualizing into my life, today I will be physically making room for it. My vision board is complete with a picture of my dream home, a fancy black Hummer (though I’ll be keeping, driving and restoring my awesome ‘86 VW bus as well), good luck charms, power statements, my soul sentence and some other fun things that inspire me. In order to make way for these things, some shifts need to take place for me personally. I am going to begin living like I’m already there, both emotionally and environmentally!

The first thing I plan to do to accomplish this is to walk through my house and analyze my possessions. If you follow the principles of the law of attraction and the millionaire mindset, you’re already aware that millionaires think differently than those who struggle with money. I’m no longer struggling with money, thanks to these principles, and now it’s time to step it up a notch. People with millions of dollars usually have more time, more conveniences, less anger and fear, better health and better lifestyles. At least this is the kind of millionaire I plan to be!!

So, I’ve got a box all ready and I’ll be filling it with items that no longer serve me, but may come in handy for those who are working their way through a tough situation. I know when I first arrived here with no possessions, chipped plates and a mattress on the floor were a godsend. But now it’s time to give to those less fortunate, since I have come so far so quickly.

I’ll be donating anything that I currently own that I don’t use, don’t wear or that I wouldn’t take with me on the move to the luxury home. Sometimes we become inundated with clutter that collects and stores energy that could be better used for growth and prosperity. It’s like cleaning the dust from your shelves…some people don’t ever do it, some people realize that it’s a necessary evil and some people graduate to generously tipping a cleaning service to take care of it for them. Change your mindset about the dust and clutter and you’ll be working your way toward an abundance of fresh air and clean space…something that prosperous and wealthy people may take for granted!

Now let’s back up a bit. Becoming a millionaire first begins in your mind. For me, the millions are simply the next step. I’ve been working on my own personal development, including my attitude, my surroundings, gratitude for the things I have, appreciation for every situation I have encountered in my life and forgiveness for all those that I used to blame. I’ve still got a ways to go, as personal development is a lifelong achievement. But in paying attention to my joy, my abundance thus far, my happiness and my personal peace, I’m ready for the next step. We all deserve all of the above. We deserve whatever we wish into our lives. And anything you want can be had, once you understand how to cross the bridge.

If you’d like more information on anything I’ve talked about: vision boards, personal development, changing your mindset, clearing old emotional blocks, ending the struggle with money, visualization, etc. please feel free to contact me. My passion is personal peace. I’ve achieved it and I’d love to help you figure out how you can do the same. Come join me on my journey. Let’s blast through what’s holding you back and reveal how easy it is to release the bad and live with only the good.

Jeannie

Half Full or Half Empty?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010
Half empty, or half full? What's your perspective?

Half empty, or half full? What's your perspective?

Is the glass half empty or half full?

That’s one of those questions we’ve all heard. Maybe we laugh as we discuss the answer amongst friends. But once the comedy ends, we drink whatever half is left in the glass and we move on, without another thought about the underlying depth of this contemplation.

The paradox is that the glass is both half full and half empty, simultaneously. Depending upon the day, your mood or your life experiences, you’ll have a tendency to answer accordingly. It will be what it is for you, and you’ll likely stick to it. This is where perspective comes into play. Perspective is one of the single most important determinants of how our lives will unfold, and the kicker is that we, alone are in 100% control of how the entire thing turns out.

There are two sides to every story. Really, there are a million. There are so many different ways to look at and feel about everything that is. No matter how we think, react, are… we are never wrong, and we are never right. We are simply carrying about, in control or out of it, unfolding our lives as the events surface. How many of us are aware that we have any control in our lives? How many of us feel confident enough to take advantage of this power? How many of us are free enough from fear, guilt and confusion to believe that we can turn any unfortunate event into something splended, fulfilling and joyful? How many of us believe we deserve such a beautiful gift?

Changing your overall perspective of life is not only fulfilling and attractive to the Universe and it’s gifts, but it is also a process. It doesn’t take hard work, but it does require diligence. The first step is to become aware, and if you have read thus far, you can check that off the list. Awareness never goes away once it’s received. You cannot ‘backslide’ from awareness. You can temporarily misplace the information somewhere in a boggled mind, but you can never unlearn a gem of wisdom that has been placed before you.

The next step is to pay attention to your habitual thinking. This is tricky since it’s almost as if we have to catch ourselves being ourselves. You must literally see yourself in the third person and objectively assess each of your thoughts. The best way to go about this is to become aware of your feelings. If something doesn’t feel good, find out why. Nothing is external. There are ways to view circumstances that seem terrible with a light heart and a keen eye for knowledge. Dissect all bad feelings to get to the root of why something is bothering you, and then figure out how to change your perspective.

Let’s use traffic as an example. Most of us hate sitting in traffic. Why? It may be hot outside, it may be cold. We may be late for an appointment. We may have a long list of things to do and we’re impatient with all those cars in front of us. Sitting in traffic is actually a wonderful opportunity to have some ‘us’ time. If there are a million cars in front of you, there’s not a darn thing you can do about it. Turn on the radio and sing. Turn off the radio and enjoy the sunshine. Look around you and notice the beautiful birds, architecture, clouds and scenery that you usually miss as you speed by. Admire that 1968 Mustang next to you on the road.

Get to know yourself.

Figure out why you’re huffing and puffing over something that you can’t change. Are you feeling guilt for being late? Are you tense because you’ve got too many things to do? Notice those feelings, breathe and then relax. Find a new focal point. Focus on something that feels good.

This example, in a nutshell, is how you may always go about ridding yourself of all feelings that aren’t nice. You always have a choice to feel good or feel bad. No one can change these feelings for you. No matter how your kids act, what the weather report says or how little money you’re bringing into your life, you can always decide to focus on that which is good and plentiful.

Make this a new habit. Once this process becomes second nature, you’ll notice all the good things that follow. Magic will begin to happen in your life and you’ll wonder how you missed something so simple for all these years. It’s a journey. It’s your movie. It’s your life. Be the shining star and pass on the goodness.

Farmville and the Continued War Against Ourselves

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Farmville is fun. If you hate it, are you doing something else that is fun?

Farmville is fun. If you hate it, are you doing something else that is fun?

At first glance, you might be thinking ‘what the heck does Farmville have to do with holistic healing.’

Well. The answer is nothing… and everything!

I play Farmville on Facebook. I like it. I think it’s fun. It provides me with a break in between writing articles or the other 900 jobs that I’ve created for my to-do list. And I’m not alone. 76 million people actively play Farmville every month. It’s a phenomenon.

Frequently, I see group and page invites flash across my Facebook news feed that say things like ‘Farmville Haters,’ ‘I don’t care about your farm or your park or your mafia’ or ‘Oh, you’re a fan of Farmville, I’m a fan of having a life.’ Wow.

So, it gets better. If one clicks the link and proceeds to read what some of these people write on the walls, one will find such comments as ‘I hope all their crops die,’ ‘They should just get a life and a real farm’ or ‘I wish we could send Farmville farmers swine flu or bomb their farms.’

Frequently you’ll find overuse of cuss words and insults.

What’s the deal with this? I was truly astonished at the level of anger and disgruntled-ness that I found from Farmville haters. And it led me to wonder what’s really going on.

So, I created my own group on Facebook. It’s called Mind Your Business and Stop Hating on My Farm. This is a place of peace. At least that was my intention. I really have no idea why some people would get so upset about something someone else is enjoying. It’s completely beyond me. It’s a free world and no one is twisting anyone’s arm to join Farmville. You might get an occasional invitation from a friend, who thinks you might need a BREAK from all that bitching…but that’s an easy thing to ignore or block if you really don’t want to play.

Which leads me to my next point. The ONLY way I can understand being this upset over other people playing an online game is if you are completely sick of seeing the updates on your news feed. But here’s the thing. Instead of taking the time to join 100 Farmville hater groups and think up clever insults for those of us who play, perhaps you could Google a term like ‘how to stop application and game updates from showing on my Facebook news feed.’ The information is there. And for your convenience, it’s here as well. Just scroll to the bottom of this post.

Now to my real point on how this ties in with holistic healing and this blog. If you’re a Farmville hater and vehemently expose your hatred via these Facebook groups and your news feed, do you have any idea what you’re doing to yourself? It’s not likely that you’re upsetting any Farmville farmers because they are having a good time playing their little game, harvesting their little crops and feeding their little animals. You’re creating a huge ball of rage over literally nothing.

Are you aware that rage and anger creates sickness and disease????

While I am detached from this emotion since I’m not interested in creating sickness and disease for myself, I did want to tell the world that expending energy on hatred is really not good for the body, mind or soul. This is true of hatred for anyone or anything, but especially something that is either A) not affecting your life one bit, or B) very easy to ignore and block.

I mean c’mon. If you can’t let THIS go, I can imagine the size of the tumor that may be growing in your body because you can’t drive calmly in traffic or deal with your in-laws. Wow. The term ‘take a chill pill’ comes to mind, but this is a holistic blog so I don’t believe in pills either.

Alternatively, perhaps you should just breathe deeply and realize that you are making your own choices and your feelings are being created by you. Please wake up and join the team for peace so that we may evolve into a more peaceful society. You do understand that peace must start with YOU, right?

Wow. Ok so the following video is really quite funny. I’ll admit it. It does prove some points that Farmville addicts might be experiencing. However, there’s no hate! No energy has been expended on hatred. This guy is having FUN hating Farmville, which is the whole point of this post to start with.

How to Block Game and Application Updates, Life Farmville, From Your Facebook News Feed

Ok, so here are the instructions for blocking game and application feeds, or even certain people from showing up on your Facebook news feed. These instructions are copied directly from my Facebook fan page that I mentioned earlier.

If you happened upon this group…even if you’re a hater…there’s a really simple way to HIDE all application updates from your news feed that you don’t want to see.

Instead of hating on Farmville…here’s what you do.

1) The next time you see an update from an application or a person that you don’t want to see again, run your mouse over to the right side of the post.
2) A little box pops up that says HIDE.
3) Click it and the post will go away. You’ll also be given an option to hide all posts from that PERSON, or all posts from that APPLICATION.
4) Click your choice and then, my friend, you’ll never have to be bothered by our silly little farming updates again.
5) Now you can feel better and go on about your happy Facebook posting without getting so wound up.

So now you know how to block certain updates from your Facebook news feed. Wasn’t that easy? Think of all the energy you expended being upset over it. Self-realization is imminent, my friend. It’s going to happen sooner or later. The lightbulb WILL come on. Why not take steps to make that happenĀ  more quickly. Stop HATING! It’s really bad for you.

xxoo,
Jeannie
